St. Patty's Day has a special place in my heart. The whole city getting LOUD (and drunk) together in Southie, Irish flags everywhere, and the promise of a hearty corned beef and cabbage dinner following the festivities—what could be better?
In reality, I think this may just be the only day of the year when I can tell everyone about my dual Irish citizenship and expect high fives and fist bumps in return. Or when I've felt most connected to my heritage. Or when I can take tons of photos of people who are too absorbed in the celebration/intoxicated to care. Who knows?
